Ascend is very aware that there are many qualified addiction treatment programs from which to choose. The staff at Ascend recognize that this task can be daunting for individuals and families because it is hard to know exactly what services will fit your needs. Choosing the right center for yourself or loved one is a big choice and we encourage you to work towards making a choice that you feel confident in. We traditionally recommend selecting 3 or 4 treatment programs that seem to fit closely with you goals for treatment and tour and talk to the clinical directors of these programs. We believe that through this process one treatment center will rise to the top and you will be able to feel confident in choosing a center that will best fit your needs. There are some key features to Ascend that make us believe we have a truly unique and effective program that has proven itself successful.
- Individualized care-Ascend is a very small program by national standards. We believe that a certain portion of a client’s treatment program is very individual to them. At Ascend we have the flexibility not to put everyone through the same box. We are able to flex and make adjustments to address each client’s individual component of the recovery process.
- Dual Diagnosis- Ascend is a rigidly duel diagnosis program. This means we believed that part of the issue in addiction is usually dealing with some sort of underlying mental health or psychosocial issue. These issues must be dealt with in order to expect the client to remain sober from drugs and alcohol. In order to treat dual diagnosis clients, a treatment program must have a staff qualified to deal with these more complex cases. We have a ASAM certified addictionologist on staff as well as a board certified addiction psychiatrist. All of our therapists have minimum of a masters degree. All patients are given a full scale MMPI so that accurate diagnosis can be made.
- Family program- The Ascend program follows current research showing that clients are more successful in their treatment programs when their families are involved in the treatment process. Ascend has an intensive family program that involves the family in throughout the treatment process.
- Aftercare-Ascend believes that good treatment is a much longer than just the residential portion of treatment. We believe that good aftercare must be in place to support what has taken place in residential treatment. To support our patients long term Ascend aftercare is tailored to each client. Ascend aftercare is tailored to each client. Completion of our inpatient program as recommended by the clinical team allows for the client to participate in aftercare for life at no additional charge. Aftercare group meets weekly for three hours. Additionally, the client is able to continue in Individual Therapy( with the same primary therapist the client had while inpatient) twice a month for a year at no additional cost.
- Experiential therapy- Ascend Recovery offers a comprehensive Experiential Therapy component as a portion of our fully clinically integrated programming. Experiential therapy is the process of taking what we have learned in traditional cognitive therapies and putting that knowledge into ACTION, rehearsing solution. Our Experiential Therapy program includes Equine Therapy, challenge course work, Art Therapy, pottery and yoga. We also enjoy recreational activities such as working out daily at the gym with a personal trainer, skiing/snowboarding, hiking, Daily Exercise- Ascend clients have a daily workout in a full gym with a personal trainer

- Complimentary Therapies- Ascend believes in the integration of many therapeutic modalities. To name a few of our core complimentary treatments we offer, amino acid replacement therapy, EMDR therapy, and meditation practice therapy.
